In order to obtain a visa to Vietnam please provide the following:

Visitor Visa (For Tourist, Family visits, Sales and Marketing Stays up to Thirty Days)

1. Submit your Passport (must have at least 6 months remaining validity)
2. 1 Visa Application Form, completed and signed
3. 1 Passport-type photograph

Business Visa (For Corporate Transfers, Employment, stay up to the approved period)

4. Applicant must provide a visa pre-approval obtained through his sponsor in Vietnam. An approval is a visa clearance obtained for an applicant by his partner, host, representative, relative, friend or a travel agency in Vietnam ahead of time at the Immigration Department, Ministry of Public Security (258 Nguyen Trai Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City or 40a Hang Bai, Hanoi). The Embassy of Vietnam issues the visa to the applicant based on that approval.

Notes:
The VISIT VISA for tourist and family visits (or sales/marketing visits of less than 30 days stay) is issued for a single entry, for a specific period of time up to a maximum of 30 days stay, or for up to 90 days for applicants of Vietnamese origin. An additional 20 days extension of stay may be authorized on application after arrival in Vietnam.
The visa is valid for entry and exit through Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City or DaNang Airports only. If your point of entry is different (e.g. by rail) you must request this specifically on your application form.
Foreign nationals applying in the USA for a Vietnam Visa must also submit proof of legal status in the USA (copy of Green Card; valid I-94 in passport; valid FORM I-20 for students, etc.
Multiple entry visas, valid for up to one month, or, three months, or six months for stays in Vietnam of up to 30 days each visit, are available for business and tourist visitors.
Former Vietnamese nationals and Vietnamese holders of U.S. Re-Entry Permits should require a special application form and instructions. They can usually be issued a visa valid for a stay of up to 90 days. A different visa application form and instructions are required for Vietnamese born U.S. citizens and residents.
